Donation of Books to Buddhist Studies Unit

Dr. ToshiIchi Endo, Associate Professor of Buddhist Studies at the University of Hongkong, Center for Buddhist Studies, donated a collection of about one thousand volumes of Buddhist academic works to A Buddhist Studies Unit, University of Colombo. The collection includes a set of Pali commentaries in Thai script and many other rare and valuable works in Buddhist Studies. Dr. Endo who is a well knownPali scholar was formerly a professor at the Postgraduate Institute of Pali and Buddhist Studies, University of Kelaniya.

Here Professor AthulaRanasinghe in seen accepting the books from Prof. Endo on behalf of the Faculty of Arts, University of Colombo. Also seen are Prof. AsangaTilakartne, Coordinator of Buddhist Studies Unit, Rev. Prof. M. Dhammajothi and Rev. U. Anandaand some students of the Buddhist Studies Unit.
