The course is designed for those who are interested in improving their competence in English language in order to be more successful in a business environment.<\/p>\n

\u2666 <\/i>Business letters, report & project proposal writing<\/i><\/p>\n

\u2666 <\/i>Telephone etiquette<\/i><\/p>\n

\u2666 <\/i>Making presentations using Multimedia<\/i><\/p>\n

\u2666 <\/i>Negotiation skills<\/i><\/p>\n

\u2666 <\/i>Conducting & participating in meetings<\/i><\/p>\n

\u2666 <\/i>Skills in conducting & facing interviews
\n<\/i><\/p>\n

Free use of a well equipped Self Access Centre with web based language resources<\/p>\n

Course Duration <\/b>– Four months (60 hours)<\/p>\n

Classes<\/b><\/p>\n

\u2666 Preliminary \/ Intermediate Levels Rs. 20,000\/= (for Sri Lankan students) Rs.40,000\/= for non-Sri Lankan students (includes a specially designed series of in-house course modules)<\/p>\n

\u2666 Advanced Level Rs. 25,000\/= (for Sri Lankan students) ( includes the internationally accepted course book \u201dEnglish\u00a0 for Business Studies\u201d by \u00a0Ian MacKenzie and specially designed\u00a0 supplementary course material)\u00a0\u00a0 Rs.50,000\/= for non-Sri Lankan students<\/p>\n

Application Fee<\/b> – Rs. 500\/=<\/p>\n

Application Procedure<\/b>\u00a0\u00a0 –<\/p>\n

1. Pay<\/b> Rs.500\/=<\/b> under the reference No. 304025500001 <\/b>at any Peoples\u2019 Bank<\/b> branch <\/b>to the credit of the main collection account of the University of Colombo<\/p>\n

2. Submit the copy of the bank receipt (for Rs.500\/-) to the English Language Teaching Unit, (2nd Floor, New Arts Building, Reid Avenue) University of Colombo with the name of applicant written clearly on the reverse of the receipt.<\/p>\n

3. Application forms will be issued between 9.00 a.m. and 3.00 p.m. from August 29, 2016 <\/b>(Except on Public Holidays. On Sundays, application forms will be issued till 12.30 p.m. only.<\/p>\n

4. Application and Course fees are non-refundable<\/p>\n

5. Closing date for the issue of application forms is Wednesday, October<\/b> 05, 2016<\/b>.<\/p>\n

Classes will be held at three levels \u2013 Preliminary, Intermediate and Advanced according to the proficiency level of the students. \u00a0\u00a0Applicants should be 18 years<\/b> or above.<\/p>\n

A selection test will be held on Sunday, October 09th<\/sup> 2016 at 09.30 a.m. in the Examination hall, Ground floor, Faculty of Law, University of Colombo.<\/b><\/p>\n
