Despite the vast diversity in the region including cultural and economic differences, collaborative actions are required for effective management of future challenges. As the economic growth rates get accelerated; the region\u2019s exposure to external vulnerabilities also expands.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As a responsible knowledge hub the&nbsp;<strong>Department of Economics<\/strong>&nbsp;University of Colombo joined hands with leading institutes such as the World Bank, the Central Bank of Sri Lanka and the Institute of Policy Studies to organize a regional conference on \u201c<strong>External Vulnerabilities in South Asia<\/strong>\u201c.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The event was held on&nbsp;<strong>28<sup>th<\/sup>&nbsp;February and 1<sup>st<\/sup>&nbsp;March 2019<\/strong>&nbsp;at the&nbsp;John Exter International Conference Hall at the Central Bank premises in Colombo, Sri Lanka.
