Specific Functions of the RECSSH

The RECSSH operates with the following active mandates:

1. Reviews research proposals submitted within the streams of social and human sciences, primarily targeting the staff and students of the Faculty of Arts at the University of Colombo.

2. Maintains responsibility for the development, updating, and monitoring of the Faculty’s social research ethics review policy and procedures.

3. Ensures the dissemination of best social research practice principles throughout the Faculty and the University.

4. Extends its services to researchers outside the Faculty and University when their proposals fall within the scope of social sciences and humanities.
