Research Ethics Committee for Social Sciences and Humanities (RECSSH) in the Faculty of Arts is established to advise on ethical issues in research in the Faculty and to assess for approval such proposals on social sciences and humanities research.
The overall objectives of RECSSH are to
- Protect the mental and physical wellbeing, rights, dignity and safety of persons and communities who participate in research as well as the researcher
- Facilitate ethical research through efficient and effective reviewing processes
- Promote ethical stands on social science and humanities research
- Review research in accordance with relevant national and international guidelines.
