It will focus on conceptual developments in the philosophy of knowledge and how this impacted changes in the nature of historical inquiry. It will also deal with research techniques, methods and methodology.<\/p>\n<p>Learning Objectives:<\/p>\n<p>This course is designed to prepare students for doing research and to provide practical experience in following scientific methods, methodology, and the conventions of academic writing in order to equip students as future academics and researchers.<\/p>\n<p>Learning Outcomes:<br \/>\nAt the end of this course, students should be able to<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Write a research proposal<br \/>\n\u2022 Describe the nexus between paradigm shifts and shifts in theory building in research and reflect it in their own research<br \/>\n\u2022 Identify different methods and methodologies for historical inquiry<br \/>\n\u2022 Write research papers using empirical evidence and theories and concepts<\/p>\n<p>Course Content:<\/p>\n<p>1. Historical Inquiry: Introduction<br \/>\n2. Philosophical issues on historical inquiry<br \/>\n3. Doing historical research<br \/>\n4. Formulating a research problem and hypothesis<br \/>\n5. Writing a research proposal<br \/>\n6. Reviewing the literature<br \/>\n7. Data collection methods<br \/>\n8. Data analysis methods<br \/>\n9.
