{"id":9,"date":"2017-03-16T07:06:45","date_gmt":"2017-03-16T07:06:45","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/arts.cmb.ac.lk\/idc\/?page_id=9"},"modified":"2025-09-22T05:29:37","modified_gmt":"2025-09-22T05:29:37","slug":"about-us","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/arts.cmb.ac.lk\/idc\/index.php\/about-us\/","title":{"rendered":"About Us"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The\u00a0<strong>Information and Documentation Centre<\/strong>\u00a0(IDC) is the central coordinating office for the administration and monitoring of the Course Unit System (CUS) for undergraduate degree programmes.<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s tasks are:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Monitoring the Course Unit System<\/li>\n<li>Maintaining Students Records<\/li>\n<li>Co-ordinating Information and Academic Activities among Departments, Units and the Student Community<\/li>\n<li>Preparing Examination Schedules and Logistics<\/li>\n<li>Distributing Class Lists to All Departments and Units<\/li>\n<li>Notifying Students of the Course Units on Offer for the Academic Year Concerned<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The Information and Documentation Centre (IDC) is located at room number 04 at New Arts Building Faculty of Arts. The center is open\u00a0<strong>8.30 am to 4.00 pm<\/strong>\u00a0every weekday. The coordinator of the center is\u00a0<strong>Mr. Migara Karunaratne<\/strong>\u00a0Senior Lecturer at the Department of Demography, Faculty of Arts. The IDC provides services for both staff and students based on Student Information System (SIS)(<a href=\"https:\/\/sis.cmb.ac.lk\/arts\">https:\/\/sis.cmb.ac.lk\/arts<\/a>).<\/p>\n<p>The IDC maintain students\u2019 personal and academic information system. Student should immediately inform to the IDC about any change of their personal information. The IDC communicates with students only through the official email address given by the University of Colombo. The students are advised to actively use official email address to communicate with the IDC. Begin of every academic year students should register for courses at the IDC through the online programme Student Information System (SIS). Another main role of IDC is preparing lecture time table and exam time table. Student can get their time tables through SIS online programme.<\/p>\n<p>For details and clarification on the Course Unit System, and Degree programs, undergraduate students should consult\u00a0<strong>Mr. Migara Karunaratne,<\/strong>\u00a0Coordinator of the IDC,\u00a0<strong>Dr. Thisara Perera<\/strong>, Director of Undergraduate Studies and representatives nominated by each Department or Unit or by the Dean of the Faculty of Arts.
