{"id":550,"date":"2022-10-08T08:36:39","date_gmt":"2022-10-08T08:36:39","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/arts.cmb.ac.lk\/politic\/?p=550"},"modified":"2022-10-30T09:14:16","modified_gmt":"2022-10-30T09:14:16","slug":"annual-field-excursion-2022-06th-08th-oct","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/arts.cmb.ac.lk\/politic\/index.php\/annual-field-excursion-2022-06th-08th-oct\/","title":{"rendered":"Annual Field Excursion &#8211; 2022 (06th &#8211; 08th Oct.)"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\">The\u00a0Department of Political Science\u00a0organized its 3 days annual field excursion with final year\u00a0Political Science\u00a0honors degree students from 06<sup>th<\/sup>\u00a0to 08<sup>th<\/sup>, October 2022 with the participation of 49 students and\u00a07 staff members.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\">The theme of field training was to study the opinion and attitudes of agrarian societies on current political and economic crises. The Giradurukotte area of the Mahaweli C section was chosen as the field, and students were given training on both qualitative and quantitative\u00a0data collection.\u00a0To obtain qualitative data, three Focus Group Discussions (FGDs) were conducted with officials- Mahaweli Authority, representatives of farmers&#8217; societies, and the public, and a pre-prepared structured questionnaire was used to obtain quantitative data.\u00a0In addition, a detailed lecture was delivered by Mahaweli Authority officials and a documentary about Mahaweli C Division was also screened for the students.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;
