DISSENT \u2013 Session 01<\/b><\/p>\n

The World after the Persian Gulf War<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n

The Political Science Association of the University of Colombo organized the inaugural session of the DISSENT discussion series titled “The World after the Persian Gulf War.” The programme was held in Lecture Hall 302 on 19 May 2026.<\/span><\/p>\n

The discussion examined the political, economic, and geopolitical consequences of the Persian Gulf War and its influence on international relations and contemporary global politics.<\/span><\/p>\n

The session was conducted by Mr. Sumith Chaminda Leelarathne, Senior Lecturer, and Ms. Himaya de Silva, Assistant Lecturer, Department of Political Science and Public Policy. The discussion was moderated by Mr. Raveeshan Thilakarathna, President of the Political Science Association.<\/span><\/p>\n

The event encouraged students to critically analyze international political developments while promoting active academic discussion within the department.<\/span><\/p>\n
