Culmination of the Kattankudy Field Research Programme
The Department of Political Science and Public Policy organized the Culmination of the Kattankudy Field Research Programme on 15 June 2026 to showcase the findings of the final-year Political Science Special Degree students who completed their field research training in Kattankudy during September 2025.
The field research programme aimed to cultivate research skills, cultural sensitivity, and practical field experience among undergraduate students. During the culmination event, students presented their findings under four thematic areas:
- Civil Society and Politics
- Women
- Business and Trade
- Youth
The programme was conducted under the guidance of the Acting Head of the Department, Dr. Crishni Silva, and was generously funded by the Zam Zam Foundation. Representatives of the Foundation attended the event and appreciated the students’ research achievements.
The culmination programme provided students with valuable experience in presenting research findings and strengthened the Department’s commitment to field-based learning.
