DISSENT – Session 02

The second session of the DISSENT discussion series was held on 1 July 2026 in Lecture Hall 302.

The session explored the relationship between development, climate transformation, and the challenges emerging from rapid social and environmental change.

The keynote speaker was Ms. Melani Gunathilaka, environmental and political activist, who encouraged participants to critically reflect on sustainable development, environmental governance, and public policy responses to climate-related challenges.

The programme promoted thoughtful discussion among students interested in politics, public policy, environmental governance, and social transformation.
