ENGAGE Political Leadership Workshop for Students with Disabilities : 06th – 16th Dec.
The Centre for Disability Research, Education, and Practice (CEDREP) in collaboration with the International Foundation for Electoral Systems (IFES) conducted the ENGAGE Political Leadership workshop for the students with disabilities from 6th December 2021 to 16th December 2021 at the Faculty of Arts. Engaging a New Generation for Accessible Governance and Elections (ENGAGE) builds on IFES’ disability rights expertise and can be used with university students and their peers. In 2019, the ENGAGE political leadership curriculum received a Seal of Good Inclusion Practice from the Dominican government in recognition of the inclusion efforts made to support and advocate for rights of young men and women with disabilities in political processes. Seventeen students with disabilities from the Faculty of Arts participated in this workshop. The workshop was supported by the Election Commission of Sri Lanka and US Aid.
