Women Radicalism Politics

A seminar titled “Women Radicalism Politics” was held on 23rd April 2014 at the Department of English. The speakers were Prof. Rajeswari Mohan, Guest Lecturer from Haverford College, Prof. Neloufer de Mel, University of Colombo, and Dr. Shermal Wijewardene, University of Colombo.

The titles of the talks were as follows: Narrating Women’s Subversive Bodily Acts by Prof. Rajeswari Mohan, Post War Reflections: female militancy and feminist interventions from South Asia by Prof. Neloufer de Mel, and Speaking Looks in ‘Ini Avan’: women, body language, and affect in Post-war Sri Lankan cinema by Dr. Shermal Wijewardene.
