Wake Forest University Faculty-Led Abroad Programme
Date: 26 May 2026
The Department of Political Science and Public Policy participated in the Wake Forest University Faculty-Led Abroad Programme, organized in collaboration with Professor Eranda Jayawickreme.
The programme brought eight undergraduate students from Wake Forest University, USA, to Sri Lanka as part of the seminar course “Enable Pluralism Across Religious and Cultural Differences.” During their visit, students explored the psychological and social foundations of pluralism, religious coexistence, reconciliation, and intercultural understanding through interactions with academics and practitioners.
A special seminar session was conducted at the University of Colombo by Prof. T. M. Mahees, Department of Sociology; Dr. Pavithra Jayawardena, Department of International Relations; and Dr. Crishni Silva, Department of Political Science and Public Policy. The session provided international students with valuable insights into Sri Lanka’s experiences of ethnic diversity, social cohesion, and democratic pluralism.
