workshop on 'Electoral Literacy and Civic Engagement' Inbox

A one-day workshop on ‘Electoral Literacy and Civic Engagement’ was held at the Arts Faculty board room from 9.00 a.m to 3.00 p.m on 13th September, 2024. This workshop was organized by the Department of Political Science and Public Policy in collaboration with International Foundation for Electoral Studies (IFES). The objective of the workshop was to enhance knowledge of political science final year students about the electoral processes and importance of civic engagements in politics.

This event was addressed by Senior Prof (Chair) H.D. Karunarathne, Vice Chancellor of the University, Senior Prof. Lasantha Manawadu, Dean, Faculty of Arts, Mr. Saman Sri Rathnayake, Commissioner General of Elections, Mr. D.M. Dissanayake, Co-convenor of the Coalition for Democratic Elections in Sri Lanka (CODIE), Dr. Mahesh Senanayake, Head of the Department of Political Science and Public Policy and Ms. Krishni Silva, Senior Lecturer in Political Science.
