Vesak Celebration in 2026

Vesak celebration in 2026, the Department of Buddhist Studies, in collaboration with the Buddhist Studies Students’ Association, organized a Vesak Lantern Competition for the departments of the Faculty of Arts on 27 May 2026.

The Each department participated by designing and creating a Vesak lantern that reflected the spiritual and cultural values of the Vesak. The competition fostered creativity, teamwork, and interdepartmental collaboration while celebrating Sri Lanka’s rich Buddhist heritage and the significance of the Vesak festival.
