ඇසළ බැති ගී සරණිය 2020
මෙවර ඇසළ පොහොය නිමිති කරගනිමින් කොළඹ විශ්වවිද්‍යාලයේ ප්‍රජාවිද්‍යා දෙපාර්තමේන්තුව විසින් ඇසළ බැති ගී සරණිය 2020 නමින් වැඩසටහනක් සංවිධානය කල අතර 2020 ජූලි 08 වන දින zoom තාක්ෂණය ඔස්සේ එම වැඩසටහන ප්‍රචාරණය කරන ලදී. කොළඹ විශ්වවිද්‍යාලයේ උපකුලපතිතුමිය ජ්‍යෙෂ්ඨ මහාචාර්ය චන්ද්‍රකා එන්. විජේරත්න මහත්මියගේ සහ ශාස්ත්‍ර පීඨයේ පීඨාධිපති ජ්‍යෙෂ්ඨ මහාචාර්ය ප්‍රේමකුමාර ද සිල්වා මහතාගේ අනුශාසකත්වයෙන් සහ ප්‍රජාවිද්‍යා දෙපාර්තමේන්තු ප්‍රධානි ආචාර්ය මනෝරි කේ. වීරතුංග මහත්මියගේ මෙහෙයවීමෙන් මෙම බැති ගී සරණිය සංවිධානය විය. COVID-19 වසංගත තත්ත්වය හමුවේ ශිෂ්‍ය ප්‍රජාව මුහුණ දෙන මානසික ව්‍යාකූලතාවන්ගෙන් මුදවාගැනීමේ අරමුණින්, ප්‍රජාවිද්‍යා විශේෂවේදී උපාධිය හදාරන විද්‍යාර්ථින් මෙන්ම කාර්ය මණ්ඩලයේද සහභාගීත්වයෙන් පැවැත් වූ මෙම වැඩසටහනෙහි විශේෂත්වය වන්නේ පවතින වාතාවරණය හමුවේ සමාජ දුරස්ථභාවය පවත්වා ගනිමින් මෙහි සියලුම කාර්යයන් සිදු කිරීමයි.
In celebrating the Esala Poya day which fell on 04th July 2020, Department of Demography, Faculty of Arts, University of Colombo has organized an “Esala Bathi Gee Saraniya” Musical Programme and it was live broadcast via Zoom on 8th July 2020. With the guidance of Senior Professor Chandrika N. Wijeratne, Vice Chancellor, University of Colombo and Senior Professor Premakumara de Silva, Dean, Faculty of Arts, this event was organized by Dr. Manori K. Weeratunga, Head, Department of Demography and the staff. Academic staff of the Department and students those who are following the Honours Degree in Demography participated in this event. The special feature of the event was that it was organized maintaining the physical distance adhering the health regulation prevailing during the COVID-19 pandemic.
