World Population Day Celebration 2025

World Population Day, celebrated annually on July 11, raises awareness about population issues, emphasizing reproductive health, family planning, and gender equality. It promotes sustainable development and informed decision-making, empowering individuals, especially youth, to shape their futures. The day serves as a call to action for collaborative efforts toward a sustainable world.

The theme for World Population Day 2025, “Empowering young people to create the families they want in a fair and hopeful world,” underscores the critical role that young individuals play in shaping the future of our societies.

The Department of Demography, Faculty of Arts, University of Colombo, in collaboration with the Population Association of Sri Lanka (PASL), celebrated World Population Day 2025 on July 11, 2025, at the Faculty of Arts, University of Colombo.
