Grand Opening of the CALL and CIRRW
The grand opening of Colombo International Relations Wing (CIRRW) and Collaborative Active Learning Lab (CALL) celebrated a major milestone in the field of International Relations. It was a culmination of years of meticulous planning and commitment along with the funding of the World Bank under the Accelerating Higher Education Expansion and Development (AHEAD) project.
In 2019, the Department of International Relations established the Colombo International Relations Research Unit (CIRRU), the first of its kind in Sri Lanka. The mission of this unit is to assist in the conduct and dissemination of ethical and ground-braking research through hosting a digital source center.
The mission of the Collaborative Active Learning Lab (CALL) is to create a platform for undergraduates for a novel learning experience.
The grand opening was graced with the presence of Admiral Professor Jayanath Colombage, Secretary of the Foreign Ministry of Sri Lanka, Vice Chancellor, Senior Professor Chandrika N. Wijeyeratne, Dean of the Faculty of Arts, Senior Professor Lasantha Manawadu, Head of the Department of International Relations, Dr. Maneesha Wanasinghe-Pasqual, Lecturers and staff members of the Department of International Relations.
