Workshop on Employability Skills and Future Opportunities
A workshop on employability skills and future opportunities organized by the Department of International Relations was held on 3rd August 2022 as part of the workshop series funded under the World Bank AHEAD programme. Two sessions were held with the resource persons Air Commodore Manoaj Keppetipola, Senior Directing Staff National Defence College and Ms. Ruwanthi Jayasekara, Chevening Scholar, University of Warwick, United Kingdom. The session focused on inculcating employability skills and knowledge on future opportunities. Over 100 students from the 1st and 2nd years studying International Relations participated at the workshop.
Commodore Keppetipola expounded on how to develop leadership qualities in each person, highlighting the necessity for motivation, describing the ethical necessities to become a leader. Ms. Jayasekara illustrated her journey as an International Relations Scholar, pursuing higher education and employment goals sharing knowledge on scholarships, soft skills and personal development.
The workshop was successful in re aching its objectives of enabling student engagement, interaction with resource persons, disseminate knowledge and inculcate employability skills in students.
