Satellite based Estimation of pm 10 and pm 2.5
Airborne particulate is a major component in urban air pollution and most of anthropogenic activities, especially fossil fuel emission, cause an increase in particulate matter (pm 10, pm 2.5) in the urban air. Epidemiological evidences have indicated that there is a positive relationship between exposure to particulate matter and effect on human health because of smaller particles that can reach the deep region of the lungs.
Therefore, this study attempts mainly to identify the relationship between particulate matter and human health problems of the urban areas in Sri Lanka.
