14th Annual Research Symposium on Sinhala Studies – Department of Sinhala

The 14th Annual Research Symposium on Sinhala Studies, organized by the Department of Sinhala,  University of Colombo, took place on the 24th  of September 2025 at 9:00 AM at the New Arts Theatre (NAT) with the presence of the Vice Chancellor Professor Indika Karunathilake along with other invitees, scholars, and students. The technical sessions were held at the Faculty of Arts premises.
This year’s symposium focused on the theme of “Inter-cultural relations in Sinhala Studies” (සිංහල අධ්‍යයනයේ අන්තර් සංස්කෘතික සම්බන්ධතා). keynote address was delivered by Dr. Sunil Wijesiriwardhena.

The annual symposium serves as a platform for students and scholars in the field of Sinhala studies to share their research findings with a broader audience. In conjunction with this event, a Book Exhibition was held on the Faculty of Arts premises from 23th & 24th  September 2025.
