The MA Program in Sociology is designed to give a wider academic training within the discipline of Sociology for those who already have a sound basic background in Sociology or Social Anthropology. Unlike many similar programs in the country, the MA Program in Sociology at Colombo University is based on the premise that a comprehensive training in Sociology must focus on both subject knowledges as well as research. Grounded upon this conviction, the MA program offers candidates a number of core courses which we believe are essential for a sound advanced training in Sociology along with a number of other specialized subjects that students can select based on their own interests.
