Suposhi Lunch Programme – MyQR App Launch
The Suposhi Lunch Programme, is a brand new initiative spearheaded by the Faculty of Arts, University of Colombo. This programme is built on the collaborative efforts of many partners, including the staff and students of the Faculty of Arts, the Youth Wellness Society guided by the Youth Wellness Centre, the Department of Sociology, the Faculty of Arts Students Union and the Faculty of Arts Student Canteen Staff who have ensured the smooth implementation of this project. Thanks to the generous sponsorship and support of Chrysalis, the Arts Faculty has launched the Suposhi Lunch Programme for 1153 students across all four batches. In a context where food prices are escalating and student nutrition is at risk, the Arts Faculty is facilitating this project to provide students with subsidised nutritious lunches. Students are able to receive their Suposhi subsidised meals in the Arts Faculty Canteen by using QR code technology. The QR code system was specially designed for the Suposhi Lunch Programme by Innovative-e Sri Lanka. The Vice Chancellor, University of Colombo graced this occasion and ceremonially launched the MyQR App on Friday 23 June 2023.
