Department of English

Alumni Talks is a periodic event hosted by the Department of English where our distinguished alumni share their experiences, insights and career advice with current students.

The Drama Society of the University of Colombo (DramSoc) is a lively, inclusive
community housed in our department and open to all students who share a passion for
theatre and the performing arts. It offers a creative space to explore acting, scriptwriting,
directing, and stagecraft through engaging weekly meetings, collaborative events,
workshops and other interactive activities.

The Debating Society of the Faculty of Arts is a long-standing and accomplished
student club housed in our department which is open to all students of the faculty.
Through regular weekly practices held both offline and online, as well as active
participation in tournaments, the Society fosters a community of logical thinkers and
articulate speakers, supported and guided by its dedicated alumni.
