The field training programme for Undergraduates

The field training programme was conducted on 22nd August 2025 at Sathhiru Sewana Urban
Resettlement Area for third-year undergraduates enrolled in course unit-DMG 3159: Urban
Demography. The main objective of the programme was to provide students with practical
experience related to urban population issues. It also aimed to help them develop key learning
skills such as research, interpersonal communication, teamwork, and analytical thinking. As part
of the programme, the undergraduates participated in a book donation initiative for the new
library being established in the resettlement area
