Certificate Awarding Ceremony for the Training Programme on Parliamentary Practices and Procedures.

The Department of Political Science and Public Policy and the Parliament of Sri Lanka initiated a training programme in order to educate students on parliamentary practices and procedures. The certificate awarding ceremony for the students who participated in this course was held at the Waters Edge hotel on 30th  January 2023.
The Vice Chancellor, Senior Professor (Chair) H.D. Karunaratne graced the occasion as the chief guest while Professor Chandana Aluthge,  Acting Dean, Faculty of Arts, also joined to address the gathering and distribute certificates. The event was organized by the Communication Department of the Parliament of Sri Lanka with financial assistance from National Democratic Institute (NDI). The Secretary General Mr Dhammika Dasanayake and his senior colleagues participated as the resource persons for this course while Dr Pradeep Peiris, Head of the Department of Political Science and Public Policy and Ms Crishni Silva coordinated the training workshop on behalf of the Department. Ms Thusitha Piliapitiya, senior country representative of NDI and her colleagues assisted this endeavor with financial as well as logistical support.
