Postgraduate Diploma in Population Studies (2027)

The Postgraduate Diploma in Population Studies (SLQF 8) is taught in English and Sinhala in a hybrid mode, making it accessible to working professionals. It is designed to strengthen the theoretical and analytical knowledge and skills that decision-makers, policy-makers, planners and researchers need to understand demographic issues. The curriculum covers demographic analysis, nuptiality, fertility and reproductive health, introductory statistics, population and sustainable development, population and health, population ageing, and research methods. It is aimed at people already working in population, economics, statistics, planning and related fields, though other interested applicants are also encouraged to apply.
