Chinese Classics Translation Project

A Chinese Classics Translation project was conducted to commemorate the 5th Anniversary of the Confucius Institute, University of Colombo.  The agreement was signed in October, 2021.  On behalf of the Confucius Institute, University of Colombo, Senior Prof. Lasantha Manawadu, Dean, Faculty of Arts, University of Colombo, and on behalf of China Intercontinental Press & media CO.,Ltd, Director, Intercontinental Press & media CO.,Ltd, signed the agreement with a great satisfaction. This outstanding collaboration will definitely be a landmark between the two countries’ cultural exchanges.

According to the agreement and as the first step, CIUC will translate four Culture Classics, including Chinese Culture: Philosophy, Buddhism in China, Chinese Culture: Literature, and Chinese Culture: Architecture.  A team of four leading scholars from Sri Lanka will render the Sinhala translation of those four Chinese Culture classics at the occasion.
