• Articles/review papers/reviews should be sent to demograher@demo.cmb.ac.lk
• Name(s) of author(s) should be given below the heading and affiliations as a footnote. Name and
email of the corresponding author should be included in a covering email of the submission
• Author(s) must remove all identifying information from the paper to ensure an anonymized peer
review process
• Submissions should be between 5000 to 8000 words inclusive of captions and tables, but excluding
references
• An abstract of a maximum of 250 words should be submitted with a minimum of five keywords
• Papers should be sent as an MS Word document
• Submissions should be typed in A4-size paper with 3cm margins on all four sides
• Text should be in microsoft word/Open sans /11
• Single line spacing should be used throughout the text. Two-line spaces should separate paragraphs
and sections
• Headings should be a maximum of three lines
o Main heading – Bold/ capitalized/12
o Sub-headings – Bold/only first letter and proper nouns capitalized/11
o Secondary headings – Bold/ italics/only first letter and proper nouns capitalized/11
o Other headings – Unbold/italics/11
• Articles should contain introduction, methodology, results, discussion and conclusion
• Illustrations should be submitted as separate jpg, tiff (or in an Excel file) or png files, resolution at
least 300dpi. Sizes can vary but should not be smaller than 200 pixels. Author(s) are responsible for
obtaining permission from copyright holders for the reproduction of pictures, tables, quotations
etc.
• Measurements should be given in metric system
• References should use APA citation style and listed alphabetically at the end of the paper
• Submitted articles must not be under consideration by any other publisher and should not be
submitted to any other publication until a decision is given from the editor of the journal. Authors
must attest to this at the time of submission in the covering email
• Papers submitted will first be subject to a desk review by the Editor to determine suitability, whether
submitted according to guidelines and writing issues connected to clarity. Authors will be notified of
rejection as quickly as possible
• The selected papers will then be subjected to a double-blind peer review process
• Depending on the peer review, the final decision on publication will made by the Editor
