Invited Speaker – UN’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)
Prof. Ajantha Hapuarachchi of the Journalism Unit was invited as a speaker to the Multidisciplinary International Seminar on “UN’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), Social Justice and Media” which was organized by the Dr. Babsaheb Ambedkar Marathawada University, India held on 28th – 29th April, 2017.
Prof. Hapuarachchci discussed about the validity of the theme of the conference, not only for today but also for the future too. She also stated that most of the content of fundamental human rights had been included into SDGs, for instance health, education gender equality, and women’s empowerment and how the media plays one of the key roles for sustainability.
