Inauguration of the Certificate Course in Human Resource Management and Business Management – Batch 01
The Inauguration ceremony of the Certificate Course in Human Resource Management and Business Management initiated by the Career Guidance Unit, Faculty of Arts was successfully held on 24th of January 2023 at 128 Hall, Faculty of Arts building. This Inauguration ceremony was organized to welcome 150 selected undergraduates from third and fourth years of the Faculty of Arts, University of Colombo.
The course was ceremoniously inaugurated with Senior Professor Lasantha Manawadu, Dean of the Faculty gracing the occasion as the chief guest. The inaugural event was participated by other honorary guests including Prof. Nihal Padmasiri, the Director of the Career Guidance Unit of University of Colombo, Mr. Saman Wanasinghe, Senior Lecturer and the Director of the Career Guidance Unit, Faculty of Arts, the Panel of Lecturers of the Certificate Course, members of the Career Guidance Unit Working Committee, Heads of Departments of the Faculty, Senior Academics and lecturers of the faculty. The first lecture of the course was commenced immediately after the short inauguration by Dr. Rajitha Silva.
The period of this course will be three months and the course content will provide the students a deeper understanding of the essential key introductions to Human Resource Management and Business Management and also of the practical skills such as interview facing and CV writing skills needed for HR professionals. Furthermore , Career Guidance Unit together with Faculty of Arts, University of Colombo is pleased to be able to provide this course free of charge making much-needed knowledge accessible for the betterment of professional lives of the undergraduates of the faculty.
