Seminar on “What has Social Work in common with Psychoanalysis: An Epistemological Inquiry” – 14th Sept.

The Department of Sociology organized the monthly seminar for the month of September, on  14th of September 2017 at 12.00 noon to 1.30 p.m. in the Seminar Room of the Department of Sociology. At this seminar, Prof. Bogdan Lesnik presented the lecture on “What has Social Work in common with Psychoanalysis: An Epistemological Inquiry”.

Prof. Bogdan Lesnik is a professor in Social Work at the University of Ljubljana, Slovenia and was the former Dean of the faculty.  Having a doctorate in Psychology, he has demonstrated a keen interest in Psychoanalysis and was the former president of the Psychoanalytic Association in Slovenia.  At present, he is the Chairman of the Board of the “Institute of Group Analysis”, Ljubljana.

Prof. Lesnik was the key person who initiated the collaborative programme in Social Work between the Department of Sociology, University of Colombo and the Faculty of Social Work, University of Ljubljana.  He is the author of many publications including “Concepts of Psychoanalysis” and “The Subject in Analysis”.
